As the main vertical load-bearing members, they bear vertical and horizontal loads from beams, equipment and other structural components. Hot-rolled or welded wide flange H-section steel is typically used, with cross-section size determined according to calculated axial force, bending moment, slenderness ratio and other requirements. For enhanced stability, the bottom of the frame column is firmly connected to the foundation through foundation bolts, and the top is reliably connected to the frame beam.
Primarily bears the vertical load generated by equipment, materials and operators on the floor or platform, transferring it to the frame column. Generally, H-shaped steel similar to frame columns is selected and connected with the frame columns by welding or high-strength bolts to form rigid or semi-rigid joints, ensuring overall stability and spatial stress performance. The span and spacing of beams are determined according to equipment layout and process requirements, with common spans between 6-12 meters.
